Burn the Boats.

The escalation of commitment is a human behavior pattern in which a person who is encountering increasingly negative outcomes from a decision, action, or investment continues the behavior instead of altering course.

Economists and psychologists would describe this as the sunk cost fallacy. It is continued effort into an investment or an action because of the culmination of increased investment, in both time and money.

This sounds extremely foolish. And in some cases it is.

The escalation of commitment can be negative. It can cause you to double down on a shoddy investment or pursue a toxic relationship.

Knowing when to cut ties and move on is important, and necessary.

But the escalation of commitment is also a very powerful tool in the pursuit of worthwhile dreams and goals.

There is an extremely important distinction between a worthwhile pursuit and chasing a sunk cost.

However, it is rare that someone goes all in on something truly worthwhile. Like really all in.

Burn the boats.

Cut the lines.

You get it.

What would happen if you went all in on your goals?

What if you made an investment in yourself and let there be no alternative other than success?

What would you be doing right now?

When we go all in on something, when we burn the boats, when we cut the lines, we create a situation where we have no alternative. Our only option is to achieve what we set out to achieve.

We challenge you to create a situation that is front end loaded with a sunk cost. We believe you are capable of achieving your biggest goals and wildest dreams.

Going all in is a good way to get motivated, but knowing what to go all in on and how to do it is the challenge.

We can help with that.
